So, back to my story. Which book was it that I decided to pick up you ask? Well, as a matter of fact the book I picked was in a New Arrivals spinner rack my lcs has to spotlight some of the new books they think could use a push. The book I chose was the first issue of Valiant's four issue event Book of Death by Robert Venditti, Robert Gill and Doug Braithwait. At the time I had literally no idea what the book was about but I picked it up anyway. Now why on Earth would I pick up a book I have no idea what it's about? Well, I picked it up mainly for three important reasons:
1. Presentation- The book has a certain level of quality in it's production that makes you happy to pay for it. The cover has a special printing process that just makes it stand out from the rest of the books on the rack. It's almost a Prestige format type book.
2.Price- Even when I paid $3.99, I truly believe that paying that much for any Valiant book is a good deal on a bad day and a great deal on a good day. There's a lot of love that goes into making Valiant books and it shows.
3.Satisfaction Guaranteed- Ever since the relaunch Valiant has been putting out some of the best comic books money can buy and because I've been following the the publisher since the relaunch, and I have enough confidence in their creators, I had no hesitation in jumping on this four issue event; especially since I'm only buying no more than six (6) books from the "Big 2"... combined! Anyhow, expect a quick review for this book later this week along with five or six other books I'm currently reading and reviewing. Bye!
