![]() Hey everybody! I wanted to write a bit about The Mysterious Exorcist: Good Night, San Juan- TC Edition. The second spin-off to come out of Warlord (the first being Clown) and was my love letter to the Doug Moench and Kelly Jones run on Batman in the 90s. It went through problems due to storms that flooded my room and hardware and artwork that got damaged. With everything that unfolded in real life it wasn't until a few years back that I finally ended this one shot. I loved working on this but it took so long to finally finish that despite people really liked it, I felt like the story didn't flow as well as it could have, and that has bothered me ever since. As you can see in the image to the left, I am remaking Good Night San Juan for print, and that is the remastered cover. I am having so much fun revisiting this story, updating not just the artwork, I am also doing my best to add additional scenes to make the flow of the story way better and even out the pacing to make this a much better comic. I'm essentially working on Good Night San Juan and the webcomic version of The Mysterious Exorcist: Funeral. ![]() My plans for Exorcist is to have Good Night San Juan available for sale for the summer, and have a printed version for Funeral by winter. And beyond that, there are plenty of Exorcist stories on the back burner, so I am very much looking forward to working on that! My plans are to do two additional one shots of Exorcist before making an actual 6 chapter mini series, as a way to expand the unique world of Exorcist, as well as do an anthology with different creators, remember, the mantle of Exorcist is passed down from parent to child, so there is a well of opportunities of doing different stories from different eras, I don't know when exactly that will happen, but I would love to see that happen next year at least! In the mean time, please look forward to the two one shots I hope to have printed this year, and as always thank you all for your support! Catch you all next blog, stay safe! -Alvaro

![]() Good morning everyone, hope everyone is doing well! As I mentioned earlier this month, The Cannon Girl will be returning with the TC Edition treatment as well, as well as being printed for the first time. The only time it was printed was when I printed a single strip as a promo print for a comic book activity at a mall back when I lived in Puerto Rico. Like with the other projects, printed copy plans had to be put on hold because the original artwork and digital backups were lost during a storm that flooded my room. Much like DTF6, I put season 2 in a long hiatus to concentrate on my main webcomic Fred Peterson The Mighty Warlord. As I mentioned before, once season one of the Never Mind remake ends, The Cannon Girl will replace it, and once season 1 of The Cannon Girl ends it will be printed as well, to the left you will see the new cover for what will be the printed edition. If plans goes well, it will be printed sometime around the fall. I've alway had a soft spot for this webcomic and the positivity it tries to portray and how experimental I usually go with the artwork, this webcomic was always a breath of fresh air for me to make, it was always one of the most if not the most critically acclaimed of my webcomics back then, so I hope you all look forward to the return of the webcomic and eventually the print version, thank you all for reading, catch you next blog, stay safe! -Alvaro ![]() Hey everyone, top of the morning to you! I just wanted to write about more printing plans for other titles. DTF6 started updating once again and it's a much slower update schedule at one page a week. Because I already am doing TC Editions of Warlord, Exorcist, Never Mind, and The Cannon Girl, I don't see the TC Edition of DTF6 this year, if I do it would be late 2021, BUT, yes, there WILL be a TC Edition of chapter 1! Chapter 1 as well as other titles that I've mentioned before all the original art and backups were destroyed when I was living in PR during a storm that flooded my room. Part of that is why chapter 1 went into a long extended hiatus because I needed to settle into Warlord, Never Mind, and Clown. I'm very excited to redraw chapter one of DTF6, this is a comic that I really want to put more of a shine to, especially since this is a comic full of characters I created from way before Warlord, so I am attached to this story and characters. ![]() As I mentioned in a previous blog, this is a comic inspired by a lot of anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Argento Soma, RahXephon, combined with 90s team comic books like Uncanny X-Men, Sovereign 7, Cyber Force, it's my love letter to all that stuff that I love and it makes me just plain excited to be working on this title again, and I hope you all look forward to it, because I will be trying to give my absolute best on this comic! Thank you for reading, catch you next blog, stay safe! -Alvaro ![]() Gooood evening, everyone!I had already mentioned earlier this month how I planned on making a print version of the TC Edition of Never Mind, so I wanted to go a little more into that. Last year I began revamping the Never Mind webcomic with plans to simultaneously release the printed version of this remastered version along with the second printing of the original Never Mind season 1 webcomic. After taking a hiatus midway through the webcomic publication and the printing place taking longer than usual to print comics, things didn't go exactly as planned. The reprint of the original copy of the first 12 strips of Never Mind was made and sent to the printers at the time I had scheduled, as did Project: New Wave issue two was sent on time too, but due to more comics being published than usual and challenges due to the pandemic, both comics were printed months after originally planned. Now that the webcomic has resumed and is midway through, the actual production of the comic is about to end. ![]() My goal for the print edition of Never Mind is to finish production of the webcomic so that once the final strip goes up, the print version will be available as well. And if things continue to go as they do, season 2 will begin in late 2021, and my goal is to also have a print version ready for season 2 TC Edition. That will be either by the end of 2021 or early 2022 depending on how things goes and how real world things may affect things as well, but there's one thing for sure, I will give it my absolute best and more importantly, have a ton of fun while making this, and I hope you all have fun reading this as well. Thank you all for reading once more and until next blog, stay safe! -Alvaro ![]() Good morning fellow readers! I just wanted to take a moment to go over some goals for printed books (physical and digital) that I have for 2020. So, let's start straight away with my baby, Fred Peterson: The Mighty Warlord- TC Edition! Most of you know the drill: I lost the original artwork and backup files through different natural disasters and hardware malfunctions back when I lived in PR, making it impossible to print out a quality looking comic of the webcomic. So, I decided to redraw the whole thing and since the few published copies were when I was a part of a studio named Studio 22 (aka Astral 22 as well), I decided to rebrand the printed copies the Truthful Comics Edition. My goal for TMW in terms of printing book one is to have at least two comics printed late 2021, the book 1 prologue and the book 1 webisodes. I'm extremely excited about this, because not only am I revisiting stories that are near and dear to me, I am giving it a facelift as well, since my artwork has evolved so much since the webcomic started in 2006. ![]() Of course, that means I will tweak a thing here and there to help the story flow better, too, since I have grown as a writer since the original webcomic started. It's not an entire remake, but for example, most chapter were 32 pages long, and to help with pacing issues and to help with the price point of the comic, I will be pairing that down to 22 pages, so I will have to write around where to end and where to start an issue, especially on the chapters that were 40+ pages. I assure you this will be done to ensure that I am putting the best possible product out there for you all! The two images shown in this blog are the covers to the prologue and webisodes respectively, which I have posted before (along with a preview of some pages). Throughout the year I will be posting teaser images of the progress. One thing I still am thinking about is doing a crowdfund on Indie Gogo or something, since the majority of readers would prefer a trade of book 1. I'll decide what to do down the line and keep you all posted, just know that I am having a blast doing this, and I hope that fun shows when the time comes to finally see this in print again! Thank you all for reading, catch you next blog, until then stay safe! -Alvaro ![]() Good evening, everybody! Tonight I want to continue writing about future projects. For this one, I decided to make the comic I started a few years back for a short comic, The Big Flavor. This is another one that is something I don't usually do, as with Weepaman y Weepito, this is a straight up comedy, but contrary to Weepaman y Weepito, this is not social commentary but irreverent humor. Originally intended for an anthology, it was a 5 page short, but now I'm reviving it and expanding it to a 12 page short to take over season 1 of Weepaman finishes. So that means it will start in the summer. As with Amazing Kid (and his Imaginary Friend), I will show concept art as I continue to make it. I already have the character designs and actually the 5 pages done from the original, but since I decided to expand it to 12, I decided to redraw those pages. It is a very fun little story that is a throwback to 90s comics in a way and also irreverent comedy like Black Heaven, Excel Saga, and Space Dandy anime. I am really excited to finally get this short comic out, and I hope you all enjoy it! -Alvaro ![]() Good evening, friends! I just wanted to write about an all original story that has no connection to anything Warlord. Along with the creator co-plotter of Clown, Rogue Assassin, comes Alfred Gomez' Amazing Kid (and his Imaginary Friend). And contrary to the grim, hyper violent Clown, Amazing Kid is an all ages hero story. I will be releasing more info and art as the year goes by, and closer to the targeted release, which would be in the summer after Clown ends. All I can say about the story, is that it's a REALLY fun breath of fresh air compared to all the other hero books. It's also the first time I even attempted to write a more family friendly comic, so this was actually pretty challenging, but SO worth it for me because I do believe I grew as a writer with this comic. I had a ton of fun writing this and designing the comic, and when it comes out, I hope you all enjoy it as well! I will be back soon with more news on this one, so please look forward to it! -Alvaro ![]() Good day, fellow comics fans! This past week we've been going over how I have goals for current projects, but now I'm switching it up a bit. I want to write about the future. When the Exorcist one shot ends, it will be replaced by another one shot, this time for another character spawning from Warlord, The Fabulous Rocker. Yolanda Gutierrez (known to her family and friends as 'Dita) is one of the most fascinating characters to write. She's the youngest of the main cast and the least experienced in being a hero. Still in high school, Exorcist took her under his wing to train her. There still isn't much of her backstory available (its slowly being discovered in the pages of Warlord), but this one shot will expand on her character both as 'Dita and as Rocker. Aside from Exorcist, she is perhaps the most popular of the secondary heroes of the cast. Strong willed, stubborn, energetic, honest, open to learning, she has earned a lot of respect from the other characters and the readers, as well. Especially when she starts training with Exorcist. She has shown tremendous growth and everybody has been watching that growth for her, and that to me as a writer is truly exciting, she is such an exciting character to write because she is still learning and contrary to someone like Fred for example, she revels in the idea of becoming a hero because in her eyes she wants to make her parents proud. ![]() ![]() Good morning, everyone! Hope everyone is doing good and is safe. Today, I want to write about perhaps the most critically well received webcomic, The Cannon Girl. Yesterday I blogged about Weepaman y Weepito, about how the irreverent, biting social satirical humor helped flex my creativity as a writer and served as a way to keep myself lighter in an otherwise involvement of multiple dark storylines, The Cannon Girl was my palette cleanser. It was the one were it was more thoughtful and introspective. It's a series of 12 strips similar to Never Mind, there's no real connection between the strips so it's not like an overarching story. The main character, Lizbeth, is a someone that doesn't let life nor its circumstances bring her down and loves philosophy, as well as be a positive, uplifting presence to her friends and family. The first 12 strips were extremely well received, to the point that during a comic book activity in a mall in Puerto Rico, the owner of an art supply store saw a print out of one of the strips, and asked if she could put it on display in the store. ![]() The second season was well on its way on gaining a good following, but as with other projects, many delays happened and plans to have a print version were scrapped also due to losing the original artwork and digital backups. That brings us to 2021. as with other projects, The Cannon Girl seasons 1 & 2 will be remade as part of the Truthful Comics Edition. My goal is to have this strip take the place of Never Mind whenever it enters its seasonal breaks, so I want to have 1 finished season this year, and a second season near completion by 2022, with new material coming out next year. This webcomic really means a lot to me, because of all the webcomics I've made its the one that usually pauses people and makes them think and do introspections of their own, and in a way, it helps me come to terms with my own thoughts and feelings. To everyone who has read this, thank you, you can read it right here in the webcomics section and at the Duck Webcomics www.theduckwebcomics.com/The_Cannon_Girl/ Thank you so much for reading, catch you next blog, until then stay safe! -Alvaro ![]() Good day, fellow comic lovers! Today I want to write about a comic near and dear to me. The Spanish language Las Aventuras de Weepaman y Weepito. Weepaman actually is the VERY FIRST character I ever created. And....it's straight up comedy? I know, I'm known to include comedic moments in my stories to keep otherwise dark or somber stories more light and balanced, but I am not exactly known for doing straight up comedy. Much less a comedic social commentary! But here it is. The 2 chapters I made actually was met with acclaim and controversy in the forums I uploaded them to. This was a troll comic in its heart before troll was a common thing on the internet, and the people that got it to this day enjoy it. And the people that hated it to this day still have me blocked. My bad. A small backstory especially for people who never read this comic: This is the story told through the eyes of two brothers, and how their lives revolve around the wonderful and sometimes bizarre life in Puerto Rico, and how they interact with their family, friends, and environment. ![]() Nothing was safe, to the government, to schools, to family, to relationships, to the macho latin culture stereotype, it's my writing at its most politically incorrect, and I reveled in it, it was SO much fun to do, no matter what happened back then. It also helped me as a creator to vent when I would do stories that went too dark for periods of times, and it just kept some sense of balance in me that I never regret doing. It was so fun, that as a matter of fact, the planned third chapter to make this a trilogy, which was written about five years ago, well, that's a goal for 2021. I am aiming for a late summer start for chapter 3. And not just that. As with all other old material that was lost in various events, I am redoing chapters 1 & 2 with brand new art and updating it a bit to refresh it as part of the Truthful Comics Edition series. I know this one likely won't generate much buzz, but, it's actually one of the projects I'm most excited about doing because it's so different than what I usually do, and for as much fun as I have making these, if you want to give this a chance, I hope you have fun reading it. If you know Spanish. Again, my bad. You can find the original 2 chapters in my old website here enterthedangerzone.weebly.com/webcomics.html -Alvaro |
